Statement

My work is process-driven, unfolding through flux, revision, and continual becoming. I am motivated by a desire to express vitality and attentiveness to the world, and by a curiosity about interconnectedness—between people, and within the environments and structures we move through.

Through sustained inquiry, my paintings explore thresholds: moments of containment and resistance, pressure and release. I am drawn to what is held just below the surface, and to the points at which systems begin to strain, fracture, or open.

The work develops through layering, erasure, and reworking. Marks and motifs recur, dissolve, and re-emerge. I dig into the surface and peel it back, allowing traces of earlier decisions to remain visible. Stability gives way to erosion and reconfiguration, creating spaces where vulnerability, tension, and openness coexist.

At its core, my practice is driven by a desire to create work that engages the emotional body while offering moments of pause and recalibration. Through line, colour, and form, the paintings invite connection—within the viewer and between one another.
